episode was Alex Borstein's winning submission for the 2019 Emmy Award for Outstanding Actress in a Supporting Role in a Comedy Series. (Source: IMDb) * The episode won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series - Jane Lynch. (Source: IMDb) * Joel's father gives him a check for $60,000 in 1959, the equivalent of ~$619,000 in 2023. According to Kevin Pollak (Moishe Maisel) on episodes 18 and 19 of My Mrs. Maisel Pod, the check was originally scripted to be $20,000. When Kevin saw this, he recalled that his parents had bought a house during that period for just about exactly that amount, and suggested to writer/director Daniel Palladino that the check needed to be three times as much to realistically elicit the amazement that Joel expresses when he sees it. Daniel immediately agreed, and the change was made to the script. ===== Quotes & Dialogue ===== > MIDGE: And thanks to those of you at home who are still conscious.
