Marvin

Stage Manager for Seconds Count! with Sophie Lennon.

S4E6 - Midge does warmup for Sophie at NBC, as agreed. When she gets there, Marvin shows her the ropes. When Midge has been going for a bit, Sophie wanders in and Marvin mentions to her how well Midge is doing, which hurts her ego enough for her to violate the agreement she made and go up on stage with Midge. The two get into a roast-off, which leads to some nasty off-color comments, and Marvin hastily shuffles them off and tosses free pot holders into the audience to distract them.

MARVIN: It's a good audience today. Mostly tourists, a few locals, couple of nuns. The usual.
MIDGE: I'll try not to insult the pope.
MARVIN: Crowd work's always good. They love it, so feel free to interact. And at some point, we'll be throwing game-branded pot holders out to everybody. They love pot holders.
MIDGE: As do I.
MARVIN: Just keep in mind that the one thing everyone out there has in common is the thing we all have in common: we love Sophie.
– S4E6

SOPHIE: What's with the laughs?
MARVIN: It's your girl. She's good. Very good. Crowd loves her.
– S4E6

MIDGE: I get the laxative commercials now, Sophie. Perfect for someone so full of shit.
MARVIN: All righty, folks! Who wants a free pot holder?
