A pair of canaries that Sophie gifts to Susie.

S3E7 - Susie wakes up in the morning with Jackie and Chester, and reiterates her distress at having recently learned that Jackie sub-sub-let to Chester. After a moment, Sophie calls to thank Susie and notify her of the gift canaries she sent, much to the chagrin of Jackie (who has instituted a no-pets rule for the household) and Chester (who has just killed his cat in compliance with said policy).

S3E7 - Susie once again wakes up in the morning with Jackie and Chester, and receives a call from Tessie, who informs her that their mother’s condition has worsened and she must be put in a nursing home. A moment later, Junior swings by to collect a debt from Susie. She does not have enough money on hand, so she turns to Jackie, who turns to Chester, who turns to Coop to scrape up the cash. The canaries look on as this occurs.

S3E7 - When Sophie bungles the premiere, Susie tells her that she will be setting the birds loose.

S3E8 - Susie attempts to set the canaries free, but they stubbornly refuse to fly away.

SOPHIE: The birds sing, as you have given me the gift of song. Allowing my voice to soar freely.
