S1E7 - Abe brings David over for dinner to try and get him to consult on Midge and Joel’s divorce. It backfires when Rose and Abe first assume that he is bringing Mordecai Glickman over, then assume that he is trying to hook Midge up with David.

ABE: Rose, this is David Blumenthal. David, this is my wife, Rose.
DAVID: Nice to meet you, Mrs. Weissman.
ROSE: Likewise.
ABE: And this is my daughter, Miriam.
DAVID: Very nice to meet you, Miriam.
MIDGE: Nice to meet you, too, Mr. Blumenthal.
DAVID: Please, call me David.

ABE: Well, David, would you like a drink? We have… peppermint schnapps. Rose, why is there just peppermint schnapps?
ROSE: It's what Professor Glickman drinks.
ABE: I have scotch somewhere.
DAVID: I'm fine, thank you. I don't need a drink.
ROSE: I hope you like applesauce and peach slices, Mr. Blumenthal.
DAVID: I like whatever you're serving.
ROSE: Good, because that's what we're serving: applesauce and peach slices and mashed potatoes and consommé and hard-boiled eggs and pureed cauliflower and pudding for dessert. Your teeth will wonder what they're there for.

DAVID: I'm anything but picky, Abe.
ABE: Please, everybody, sit. So, David here is a divorce lawyer. David, can I dish you up some peach slices?
ROSE: You said he was a colleague.
DAVID: I do teach law part-time.
ROSE: Shut up, David.
ABE: She needs an attorney.
ROSE: She does not need an attorney.
DAVID: Maybe I should go.
MIDGE: Papa, this was not the time or the place.
ROSE: Mr. Blumenthal, I'm afraid my husband brought you here under false pretenses.
ABE: An informative colloquy can't hurt.
DAVID: I can just leave my card with you.
ROSE: She doesn't need your card.
MIDGE: Papa, can we… colloquy in your study, please?
ABE: The food will get cold.
MIDGE: It's already cold. David, excuse us.
DAVID: I understand.
ROSE: No, there's nothing for you to understand, Mr. Blumenthal.
