Biography
S5E4 - Susie vacillates between awe and bewilderment as she watches the inaugural performance of Private Waste Management: A Musical Journey in Three Acts. The play opens with an Angelic Little Boy praying for the well-being of New York City as he goes to bed. Once he is asleep, four Garbage Men pop out from behind his bed and perform the first musical number, about everything that your personal trash man can do for you. In the background, two additional Garbage Men move props and set elements on and off stage. The number ends with daylight breaking over the city. Midge then emerges from a trash can and delivers exposition about how the garbage men allow for the peace of city life. Behind her, various Happy City People mill about, including a man in a tan coat who pops his head out an apartment window (who previously appeared as one of the two background Garbage Men). All of the Happy City People (apart from the mother) later reappear in the final number, in which nearly the entire cas sing a bittersweet farewell, then take their final bow.
S5E4 - The ensemble cast of Private Waste Management: A Musical Journey in Three Acts do their best to do the second and final performance of the show exactly the same as the first, despite the fact that Midge is grumpy and deliberately trying to ruin it.
