Midge's Pyrex

A glass baking dish, very durable. Can go from hot to cold without cracking.

Biography

S1E1 - After visiting Lutzi's to put in a meat order and brag about getting the Rabbi for Yom Kippur dinner, Midge returns to her apartment and takes the Pyrex out of the oven, with a fresh-baked brisket inside. She then answers a phone call from a very nervous Joel as she cuts into the brisket, and reassures him that she will get him a better time slot at The Gaslight tonight. Midge meets up with Joel at the office, Pyrex in arm, and the two set off towards The Gaslight. At The Gaslight, Midge hands Baz the Pyrex with the brisket inside as a bribe to give Joel a better time slot. Joel performs Bob Newhart's Abe Lincoln bit, and Midge notices Susie nodding her disapproval. Afterwards, as Midge and Joel stand outside The Gaslight waiting for a cab, Susie comes up and hands Midge her empty Pyrex, giving Joel another dirty look in the process.

S1E1 - The following morning, Midge washes out the Pyrex and returns it to the shelf.

S1E1 - On Tuesday, when Archie and Imogene come to The Gaslight to see Joel perform, Midge once again bakes a brisket in the Pyrex and brings it along. However, when she tries to find Baz, she instead encounters Susie, who is very rude to her. Midge leaves it on the counter, and tells Susie to get it to Baz. Joel eventually goes on and bombs, and he and Midge go home without the Pyrex. At home, Joel breaks up with Midge and tells her that he's been sleeping with his secretary. After telling her parents and getting drunk, Midge suddenly notices the empty spot on her shelf and realizes that she left the Pyrex behind. She stumbles down to The Gaslight in her night-dress and asks Vonnie to get her the Pyrex, but Vonnie has no idea what she's talking about. Midge then stumbles on-stage and does her first standup set, which ultimately kickstarts her career.

S1E2 - As Shirley calls Midge to arrange a family dinner, the Pyrex can be seen back on Midge's kitchen shelf.

S3E3 - Noah, Astrid, Joel, Moishe and Shirley visit the Weissman residence for family dinner before the tour and the move-out. Midge uses the Pyrex to try and make a brisket, but she eventually realizes that it is not cooking because the oven is out, so she sends Zelda to cook it in Mrs. Fulber's oven. Later that evening, Midge and Joel eat the leftovers right out of the Pyrex, and Midge mentions that Fulber stole nearly half of the brisket herself as payment for using her oven.

S4E2 - Imogene and the building staff help Midge to move her stuff out of storage in the basement into her newly reacquired apartment. In the kitchen, Midge greets the Pyrex as an old friend, and restores it to its place of honor in the center of the shelf.
