Trivia

  • Johnny Hopkins, the actor who plays Ricky, is Irish. According to Michael Zegen in episode 18 of My Mrs. Maisel Pod, Hopkins maintained an American accent for the duration of the shoot because he was scared they would fire him if they learned that he was Irish. Zegen was completely fooled, and was shocked when Hopkins later revealed his true accent.
  • During Rose's baby shower, the men are in the kitchen as Abe Weissman (Papa) is relating an episode from the then new television program, The Twilight Zone. The story is about a far sighted bank teller who wants nothing more than to be able to read books through his thick glasses. The episode in question is Season 1 Episode 9, “Time Enough At Last” - originally aired Nov. 20, 1959, starring Burgess Meredith as the unfortunate Mr. Bemis. (Source: IMDb)
  • This was the only episode of the season not written or directed by either of the Palladinos. (Source: IMDb)

Quotes & Dialogue

SUSIE: You didn't have to call him.
MIDGE: Unfortunately, sometimes to make things work in a man's world, you need a man. That's just the way it is, Susie.
SUSIE: I would have found a way to take care of it. You may be some kind of damsel in distress, but I'm not.
MIDGE: No, you were a damsel in di-closet. Someday…
SUSIE: Yeah. Someday.
